Day: 01 – The journey starts in the early morning at about 7.00 AM from Esplanade/ Eastern Metropolitan Bypass / shyambazar – drive towards Sonakhali or Godkhali (approx. 95 kms/03 hours) passing through the Picturesque countryside of Bengal – a brief stopover as tea break at Ghatakpukur –arrival atSonakhali/ Godkhali – transfer to the launch for journey towards Gosaba - breakfast will be served – reaching at Gosaba - Gosaba is one of the earliest human settlements in the Sunderbans - to visit the house of Sir Danniel Hamilton - a Scottish banker who initiated the first co-operative movement of in Sunderbans- From Gosaba cruise down towards Sajnekhali forest through riverine way & in between lunch will be served. At Sajnekhali one can see the Mangrove Interpretation Centre and Sajnekhali Museum to gather experience about the. Different species and projects on Sunderban, the largest mangrove forest of the world. & from watchtower there is a scope of viewing long stretch of dense forests and the magnificent wildlife. After watching the spectacular sunset return to the resort at Pakhiralaya & in the evening enjoy the musical opera based on the popular myth of the Goddess Bonobibi performed by the local village troupe. Dinner at 9PM. Day: 02 – Morning tea at 6AM – a thrilling Boat Cruise inside creeks and dense forest through numerous rivers – breakfast on boat during cruise – arrival at Sudhayakhali jungle after having a cruise through Rivers and narrow creeks of Pitchkhali- Sarakhkhali-Sudhanokhali- Bonobibi Dharani – lunch will be served at about 1 PM – proceed towards Dobanki jungle through river cruise & after arrival at Dobanki watch the wildlife from the watchtower – then proceed towards the furthest point – Netidhopani where an age-old excavations will be seen – back to Pakhiralaya – leisure – dinner at 9 PM – night stay. Day: 03 – Bed tea with biscuits – leave Pakhiralaya bag and baggage – Breakfast will be served on board - cruise through creeks & rivers – lunch – arrival at Sonakhali – return journey by car – arrival at Kolkata. Tour Ends. |
